Symbol Set Tables This section includes a character table for each symbol set in the HP emulation mode that can be selected with SelecType and a substitution chart for the IS0 symbol sets (also available through SelecType). The symbol set tables in this section show you the available characters and hexadecimal codes. To locate the hexadecimal value for a character, find the character on the table. Move to the top of the column for the first digit of the hex character. Then move to the left of the row for the second digit. For example, the character Z has a hexadecimal value of 5A. To locate the decimal value for a character, determine the hexadecimal value for the character, then use the chart at the end of this appendix to convert the hexadecimal value. Note: The ID number under each symbol set name provides the unique portion of the escape sequence needed to select that particular symbol set.
