Installing TeemTalk On UNIX Based Products 5. Refer to the section Installing Fonts On X Terminals later in this chapter for converting fonts if you are using an X terminal. 6. Having verified the installation, all files can be deleted from the temporary directory created in step 1. 7. Before running TeemTalk, create a licence key file as described after the next section. Note: If you encounter any problems during the installation process, refer to the sections entitled Troubleshooting and Testing The Installation at the end of this chapter. Creating A Licence Key File Before running TeemTalk for the first time you must create a text file in which the TeemTalk licence key is placed. 1. Create the licence directory /etc/lm with the following command and then make it the current directory. mkdir /etc/lm cd/etc/lm 2. Use a text editor to create the file teemx in which the 12 digit licence key should be placed. A temporary licence key is supplied with TeemTalk which will enable the software to operate normally until the date shown. If you have purchased the software you should apply for a permanent licence key from your local reseller. To obtain this key you will need to supply the following information: - The serial number of the product (shown on the distribution media). - The internet address of the workstation or X terminal on which TeemTalk is being displayed. (TeemTalk displays the required IP address as part of the Copyright message when it is started. For example: "...running on 'dopey' (128.127.126.2)...", where the IP address is 128.127.126.2. Note that TeemTalk will display this information even without a licence file.) When you have the permanent licence key, this must replace the temporary licence key in the licence key file. 2-3
