Print Facilities To select a printer, just click on the name in the Available Printers list box then click Ok. Further print requests (e.g. Autoprint or Print Screen) will be directed towards that printer. Any error messages from the UNIX print service will appear in the window in which TeemTalk was invoked and/or in the system console. Note: If TeemTalk is being run in conjunction with a Sun BSD operating system, you can control how many multiple printer aliases are displayed in the Available Printers list box by using the printerMode resource or -pm command line option. Refer to the Resources & Command Line Options chapter for details. On a System V operating system some of the printers listed may have the word "class" next to them. This means that the printer destination is a class of one or more printers and that printing will occur on the first printer that becomes available within the class. Refer to your system administrator for details on which printers belong to the class. Printing classes are not supported on BSD (SunOs) operating systems. It is also possible to send print data to a file or device by typing the following on the Use printer line: > filename >> filename | /dev/device_name printer_name print to the specified new file (see note) append print data to an existing file (include pathname if necessary). print to the named device print to UNIX printer 7-3
