FTP File Transfer Note that the directory structure of the AS400 operating system consists of libraries/files.members. Changing the directory changes the library. Doubleclicking a file name (folder) will display its members (documents). 5. Select the destination directory in the same way. 6. Select the transfer type required by clicking the ASCII, Binary or Tenex button at the bottom of the dialog box. Note that ASCII is generally used for document files and Binary for executables or non-volatile files. Tenex is a specialist format for transfer to Tenex type machines. 7. Select the name of the file to be transferred in the relevant directory list box. Note that you can select multiple files. 8. Click the Copy button if you want the selected file to be copied to the destination directory, or the Move button if the original file is to be removed from the current directory and placed in the destination directory. Note that the Delete button enables you to remove files selected in the local or remote directory list box if you have permission to do so. 9. When you have finished transferring files, click on Connect then select Quit in the menu. This will close the connection with the host and return you to the main TeemTalk window. You can remove the FTP dialog box from the display without losing the connection to the remote host by clicking Connect at the top of the box to display a menu, then selecting Dismiss. 24-3
