Installing TeemTalk On UNIX Based Products catalogue = ibm:/usr/lib/X11/ncd/fonts/misc, /usr/lib/X11/ncd/fonts/ibm-snf Ensure that the directory in which the TeemTalk fonts have been installed is included in this configuration entry. Tektronix TekXpress X Terminals Font Format The TekXpress X terminals can read a number of different formats including: Portable Compiled Fonts (PCF), the standard format used in X11R5. If TeemTalk has been installed on an X11R5 based workstation then the bdf fonts will have already been converted to pcf format and the font format will be directly readable by the TekXpress X terminal. Server Natural Format (SNF) prior to X11R5 Tektronix specific snf fonts can be created by modifying the bdftosnf statement in the install script to: bdftosnf -p4 -u1 -m -M -t -TB .bdf > .snf Configuration Parameters The TekXpress X terminal stores its configuration data in a file called fonts.tbl. Edit the fonts.tbl file to reflect the new addition, for example:: /usr/lib/X11/XP/fonts/75dpi /usr/lib/X11/XP/fonts/100dpi /usr/lib/X11/XP/fonts/misc Reboot the X terminal to ensure that the terminal will read the new font paths. Hewlett Packard HP700RX X Terminals Font Format The HP X terminal can read a number of different formats including: Portable Compiled Fonts (PCF), which is the standard format used in X11R5. If TeemTalk has been installed on an X11R5 based workstation then the bdf fonts will have already been converted to pcf format and the font format will be directly readable by the HP700RX X terminal. 2-7
