Recording Image from Other AV Devices You can transfer any image recorded on videotape, etc. to the DVD camcorder via the AV input/output jack, and record it on DVD-RAM disc. C○ o○ n○ n○ e○ c○ti○n○g○ t○o○ O○ ○th○ e○ r○ A○ V○ ○D○ e○ v○i○ce Use the AV input/output cable (provided) or S-video cable (generally available) to connect the DVD camcorder to other AV device as follows: S-video cable (generally avairable) AUDIO/VIDEO EXT.MIC DEO DIGITAL S VI To S-video output jack of VCR To video/audio output jacks of VCR AV input/output cable (provided) Cautions • Be sure to turn off this DVD camcorder and any other devices before connecting them. • When the AV input/output cable and S-video cable are connected simultaneously, the video input from the S-video cable has priority. • In case of camera recording with this DVD camcorder, do not connect the AV input/output cable or Svideo cable to the output jacks of any other device: If you do this, sound from the other device may leak to this DVD camcorder. • If you use a Hitachi VCR, it will be operated by the remote control provided with the DVD camcorder. When recording an image from a Hitachi VCR, change the remote control code of the VCR to other than "VCR2". • You cannot record a movie or still without inputting an image. 142

Recording Image from Other AV Devices
You can transfer any image recorded on videotape, etc. to the DVD camcorder via the
AV input/output jack, and record it on DVD-RAM disc.
Connecting to Other AV Device
Use the AV input/output cable (provided) or S-video cable (generally available) to con-
nect the DVD camcorder to other AV device as follows:
Cautions
Be sure to turn off this DVD camcorder and any other devices before connecting them.
When the AV input/output cable and S-video cable are connected simultaneously, the video input from
the S-video cable has priority.
In case of camera recording with this DVD camcorder, do not connect the AV input/output cable or S-
video cable to the output jacks of any other device: If you do this, sound from the other device may
leak to this DVD camcorder.
If you use a Hitachi VCR, it will be operated by the remote control provided with the DVD camcorder.
When recording an image from a Hitachi VCR, change the remote control code of the VCR to other than
"VCR2".
You cannot record a movie or still without inputting an image.
