Authentication Panel Field Description Shortcut Authentication type Local only Account authentication occurs within the group. The default administration account, Alt+O grpadmin, is a local account created automatically when the group is first configured. Active Directory Authenticate administrator sessions using LDAP. You can grant group, pool, or volume administrator privileges to individual Active Directory users or to entire Active Directory groups. Alt+C RADIUS RADIUS server authenticates administration accounts and also determines the account privileges. You can also use a RADIUS accounting server to monitor the login and logout times for accounts that a RADIUS server authenticates. Alt+R Active Directory configuration AD settings Launches the dialog box to modify the Active Directory settings Alt+ D Join domain/Enable SSO Launches the dialog box to join the domain in order to configure SSO Alt+S Active Directory status Check (AD Server) Indicates whether Active Directory is configured. Select Check to test the connection. Alt+H Check (Single Sign-On) Indicates whether single sign-on is configured. Select Check to test the connection. Alt+K RADIUS RADIUS settings... Opens the RADIUS settings dialog box Alt+D Require vendor-specific RADIUS attribute A RADIUS server can use attributes to authorize accounts as group administrator, pool administrator, volume administrator, or read-only, and to store account contact information. For security reasons, Dell recommends that you require vendor-specific attributes. See your RADIUS server documentation for information on how to set attributes.
