Volume Settings Panel Table 543. Volume Settings Panel Field Description Shortcut Snapshot space reserve Snapshot reserve (percent of volume reserve) Percentage of the volume reserve allocated for snapshots. The groupwide default is Alt+S 100 percent of the volume reserve. Warn when in-use space reaches this percentage of snapshot reserve (0- 100 Percentage of the snapshot reserve that, when consumed, results in event messages and an alarm. The groupwide default is 90 percent of the snapshot reserve. For example, if a volume size is 200MB and you reserve 100 percent of the volume size for snapshots, a warning occurs when the amount of in-use snapshot reserve is 180MB, using the default (90 percent). Alt+A Snapshot settings Set volume offline When creating a snapshot that exceeds the snapshot reserve, this option sets the volume and snapshots offline. You can override this setting on a per-volume basis. Alt+V Delete oldest snapshot When creating a snapshot that exceeds the snapshot reserve, this option deletes the oldest snapshots to free sufficient snapshot reserve (the groupwide default). You can override this setting on a per-volume basis. Alt+D Borrow snapshot space as needed Temporarily increases the available snapshot space for a volume by borrowing from the snapshot reserve of other volumes and from pool free space. This option is enabled by default. Alt+B You can override this setting on a per-volume basis. Volume sector size 512 bytes per sector Sets the volume sector size to 512 bytes per sector. The sector size of a volume does not depend on the sector size of the physical drives in the array. The default volume setting of 512 bytes is almost always optimal, even if the physical drives use 4K-byte sectors. Alt+5 4K bytes per sector Sets the volume sector size to 4K bytes per sector. If you create a volume that uses 4K-byte sectors, first verify that your operating system supports 4K-byte sectors. Refer to the documentation for your operating system for information about whether 4K-byte sectors are supported. Alt+4 NOTE: After you have created a volume, you cannot change its sector size. Volumes Panel and Folder Information Panel The Volumes panel displays information about all the volumes in the group. The Folder Information panel displays information about the volumes in that folder. Both panels include a View drop-down list from which you can select the way that you want the information to be displayed.
