Field Speed (RPM) Normal Range (RPM) Description • Warning - Fan speed is either too fast or too slow (outside normal operating RPM). Check the event log in the monitoring section of the Group Manager GUI for the warning message. If the event occurs only once, and another event indicates that the fan speed is back to normal, then the problem has been resolved. If the warning persists, replace the fan module. You might have to replace a fan tray or the entire power supply, depending on the array model. See your hardware documentation for more information. • Critical - Fan has failed. Replace the fan module. You might have to replace a fan tray or the entire power supply, depending on the array model. See your hardware documentation for more information. Current rotational speed of the fan Normal range of rotational speeds for the fan Copy Data to Transfer File Wizard The Manual Transfer Utility Copy Data to Transfer File wizard copies a replication snapshot of a volume on the primary group to a transfer file. Using the wizard, you specify a location where the transfer file will be saved and other options. After MTU completes the copy operation and saves the data transfer file, you can transport the data transfer file manually to a remote location and load it on the secondary group. The wizard has three steps: • Step 1: Source - Replication Snapshot • Step 2: Destination - Transfer File • Step 3: Summary of Settings Step 1 displays the status of your iSCSI access to replication snapshot and also describes the SNMP community strings that are created during the process. Table 172. Step 1: Source - Replication Snapshot Field Description Access to replication snapshot Displays the access status for the operation. • If the access status is listed as unrestricted, you can proceed with copying the snapshot data to the transfer file. • If the status is listed as no access, you must first establish iSCSI access to the group before continuing with this operation. SNMP community Describes the SNMP community strings that are temporarily added to your system's MIB to facilitate copying the data transfer file. These community strings are deleted when the transfer is completed. Step 2 allows you to specify the location on your local system where you would like the transfer file to be copied. Table 173. Step 2: Destination - Transfer File Field Description Location of transfer file Use the Browse button to specify the location where you want the transfer file to be copied. • Compress data - If selected, MTU compresses the data before storing it in the transfer file. Do not use this option if any of the following conditions are true: - You are writing the transfer file to a medium that has its own compression algorithm (such as a tape). Field
Description
Warning — Fan speed is either too fast or too slow (outside normal operating RPM).
Check the event log in the monitoring section of the Group Manager GUI for the
warning message. If the event occurs only once, and another event indicates that the
fan speed is back to normal, then the problem has been resolved. If the warning
persists, replace the fan module. You might have to replace a fan tray or the entire
power supply, depending on the array model. See your hardware documentation for
more information.
Critical — Fan has failed. Replace the fan module. You might have to replace a fan tray
or the entire power supply, depending on the array model. See your hardware
documentation for more information.
Speed (RPM)
Current rotational speed of the fan
Normal Range (RPM)
Normal range of rotational speeds for the fan
Copy Data to Transfer File Wizard
The Manual Transfer Utility Copy Data to Transfer File wizard copies a replication snapshot of a volume on the primary group to a
transfer
file.
Using the wizard, you specify a location where the transfer
file
will be saved and other options. After MTU completes
the copy operation and saves the data transfer
file,
you can transport the data transfer
file
manually to a remote location and load it
on the secondary group.
The wizard has three steps:
Step 1: Source – Replication Snapshot
Step 2: Destination – Transfer File
Step 3: Summary of Settings
Step 1 displays the status of your iSCSI access to replication snapshot and also describes the SNMP community strings that are
created during the process.
Table 172. Step 1: Source – Replication Snapshot
Field
Description
Access to replication snapshot
Displays the access status for the operation.
If the access status is listed as
unrestricted
, you can proceed with copying the
snapshot data to the transfer
file.
If the status is listed as
no access
, you must
first
establish iSCSI access to the
group before continuing with this operation.
SNMP community
Describes the SNMP community strings that are temporarily added to your system’s MIB
to facilitate copying the data transfer
file.
These community strings are deleted when the
transfer is completed.
Step 2 allows you to specify the location on your local system where you would like the transfer
file
to be copied.
Table 173. Step 2: Destination – Transfer File
Field
Description
Location of transfer
file
Use the Browse button to specify the location where you want the transfer
file
to be
copied.
Compress data
– If selected, MTU compresses the data before storing it in the
transfer
file.
Do not use this option if any of the following conditions are true:
You are writing the transfer
file
to a medium that has its own compression
algorithm (such as a tape).
