Discover NAS Devices Wizard The Discover NAS Devices wizard opens when you first configure a NAS cluster. Table 246. Discover NAS Devices Wizard Field Description Shortcut Discover uninitialized devices Lists uninitialized NAS controllers or appliances that were discovered and that can be configured. This list includes the following fields: None • Device - List the controllers/appliances, grouped by model number. Controllers/appliances appear dimmed and cannot be selected if their firmware versions are not compatible with the PS Series group firmware versions. • Firmware - Firmware version of each controller and appliance. You must select either 2 or 4 controllers for a cluster, and the firmware of all the controllers in the cluster must be the same. • Description - Model number and role of the device. The role is either NAS controller or NAS appliance. Rediscover button Clear button Selected NAS controllers Selected devices Configure NAS cluster button Rediscovers the uninitialized NAS devices available to configure in a cluster, and refreshes the list of devices Clears any selections made in the Discover Uninitialized Devices window and any devices listed in the Selected Devices window Number of NAS controllers that you have selected from the list of discovered devices. Each controller included in an appliance/controller combination is counted as a single controller. Number of devices that you have selected from the list of discovered devices. An appliance/controller combination counts as one device. Launches the wizard to configure the selected devices into a NAS cluster Alt+R Alt+L None None Alt+N Disk Array Summary Panel The disk slots are color-coded to represent the status. Disk drive is a spare drive. Disk drive failure. Disk drive is smaller than other drives in the member. You cannot use the drive in the member. Disk drive has a foreign label. The drive was probably removed from a different array and then installed in this array. Previously failed disk drive. Disk drive is running an unsupported firmware version.
