Installing the GPU Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system. 3. If installed, remove the NVLink sponges. 4. Remove the GPU riser module. 5. If installed, remove the NVLink bridges. 6. If installing a new GPU card, unpack it and prepare the card for installation. NOTE: For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card. CAUTION: Do not install GPUs, network cards, or other PCIe devices on your system that are not validated and tested by Dell. Damage caused by unauthorized and invalidated hardware installation will null and void the system warranty. Steps 1. If installed, remove the GPU blank: a. Open the GPU card holder latches on both ends of the riser. b. Hold the GPU blank by the edges and pull the card from the riser. NOTE: Store the GPU blank for future use. GPU blank must be installed in empty expansion card slots to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in proper cooling and airflow inside the system. Figure 111. Removing the GPU blank 2. To install the GPU on GPU riser module: a. Align the connector on the GPU with the connector on the riser. b. Insert the GPU into the riser until firmly seated. c. Close the GPU card holder latches on both ends of the rise. d. Installing the GPU
Prerequisites
1.
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the

Follow the procedure listed in

If installed,
remove the NVLink sponges

Remove the GPU riser module

If installed,
remove the NVLink bridges

6.

Steps
1.
If installed, remove the GPU blank:
a.
Open the GPU card holder latches on both ends of the riser.
b.
Hold the GPU blank by the edges and pull the card from the riser.

To install the GPU on GPU riser module:
a.

Insert the GPU into the riser until firmly seated.
c.
Close the GPU card holder latches on both ends of the rise.
d.
Connect the GPU power cable to the GPU card.
