Figure 51. Installing the drive backplane Next steps 1. Connect the drive backplane cables to the connector on the system board and backplane. 2. If removed, install NVMe connector blank. 3. If removed, install rear mounting front PERC module and route the cables back to PERC module. 4. Install all drives. 5. Install the drive backplane cover. 6. Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system. Removing a NVMe connector blank Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions. 2. If installed, remove the front bezel. 3. Remove all drives. 4. Remove the drive backplane cover. 5. Remove the drive backplane CAUTION: NVMe connector blank is applicable for the system with x6 NVMe drive configuration. NOTE: NVMe connector blank must be removed from the drive backplane in order to change x6 NVMe drive configuration to other storage configuration.
