Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system. 3. Remove the backplane cover. 4. Remove all drives. 5. If required, remove NVMe connector blank. 6. If installed, remove rear mounting front PERC module. 7. Disconnect the drive backplane cables from the connector on the system board and backplane. NOTE: Route the cable properly when you replace it to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped. Steps 1. Align the slots on the drive backplane with the guides on the system. 2. Slide and lower the drive backplane into the guides and ensure that the bottom of the drive backplane is engaged with the system metal hooks. 3. Route the cable properly when you replace it to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.
Steps
