Removing the hot-swap power supply cage This procedure applies only to server models that have hot-swap power-supplies. To remove the power-supply cage, complete the following steps: 1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines" on page 47. 2. Turn off the server and all attached devices; then, disconnect all power cords and external cables. 3. Unlock and remove the side cover (see "Removing the side cover" on page 52). 4. Remove both hot-swap power supplies (see "Removing a hot-swap power supply" on page 72). Note: It might be helpful to lay the server on its side for the remainder of this procedure. 5. Disconnect the cables from the power-supply cage to the system board and all internal components. 6. Remove the four screws that secure the power-supply cage to the chassis; then, slide the cage toward the front of the server to disengage the retaining clips from the top of the chassis and lift the cage out of the chassis. 7.
