Removing the lower bezel When you work with some devices, such as the drives in bays 4 through 7 (or bays 4 through 11 for some 2.5 inch hard disk drive models), you must first remove the lower bezel to access the devices. To remove the lower bezel, complete the following steps: 1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines" on page 47. 2. If you are replacing a non-hot-swap component, turn off the server and all attached devices; then, disconnect all power cords and external cables. 3. Unlock the side cover. Note: You do not have to remove the side cover to remove the lower bezel. 4. Press the round blue release button on the right side of the lower bezel and rotate the lower bezel downward to disengage and remove it from the chassis. 5.
