Removing an optional flash memory or firmware card 1 Select the optional firmware or flash memory card to remove. Warning: Electronic components are easily damaged by static electricity. Touch something metal on the printer before touching the option card. 2 While pushing on both locking clips, gently pull the card straight out from the system board. If the card does not come out easily, turn the left edge of the card away slightly and then toward the system board several times continuing to push in on both locking clips, and while pulling gently and evenly on both ends of the card. Note: Avoid touching the metal pins on the bottom of the card. Locking clips 3 Place the optional firmware or flash memory card in its original packaging, or wrap it in paper and store it in a box for protection. 4 Replace the metal plate. Select the optional firmware or flash memory card to remove.

While pushing on both locking clips, gently pull the card straight out from the system board. If the card does not
come out easily, turn the left edge of the card away slightly and then toward the system board several times
continuing to push in on both locking clips, and while pulling gently and evenly on both ends of the card.
Note:
Avoid touching the metal pins on the bottom of the card.

Place the optional firmware or flash memory card in its original packaging, or wrap it in paper and store it in a box
