Installing and removing options Installing an optional INA card Warning: System board electrical components are easily damaged by static electricity. Touch something metal on the printer before touching any system board electronic components or connectors. An optional internal print server allows connection from the printer to the local area network (LAN). Unpack the optional INA card. Save the packing materials. Remove the system board metal plate (see Accessing the system board). 1 Locate the two screws on the printer that attach the metal plate to the slot. Remove and save the two screws. 2 Remove the metal plate covering the connector slot and save the metal plate. 3 Align the connector on the optional card with the connector on the system board. The cable connectors on the side of the optional card must fit through the opening in the faceplate. Push the optional card firmly into the option card connector on the system board. 3 4 4 Insert the two screws saved from the metal plate (or the extra screws shipped with the optional card) into the holes on either side of the connector slot. Gently tighten the screws to secure the card to the system board. 5 Replace the system board metal plate. See Replacing the system board metal plate. Installing an optional INA card 131

Installing and removing options
Installing an optional INA card
An optional internal print server allows connection from the printer to the local area network (LAN).
Unpack the optional INA card. Save the packing materials. Remove the system board metal plate (see
Accessing the
system board
).

Locate the two screws on the printer that attach the metal plate to the slot. Remove and save the two screws.

Remove the metal plate covering the connector slot and save the metal plate.

Align the connector on the optional card with the connector on the system board. The cable connectors on the
side of the optional card must fit through the opening in the faceplate. Push the optional card firmly into the option
card connector on the system board.

Insert the two screws saved from the metal plate (or the extra screws shipped with the optional card) into the holes
on either side of the connector slot. Gently tighten the screws to secure the card to the system board.
