Clearing jams Clearing jams under the fuser or fuser cover CAUTION: The fuser and the inside of the printer near the fuser may be hot. Wait for the fuser to cool before clearing jams from this area. The jammed media is under the fuser or the fuser cover. The operator panel indicates a 201.xx Paper Jam. Warning: To avoid overexposing the photoconductor units to light, do not leave the inner door open longer than 10 minutes while clearing this jam. 1 Open the upper door and the inner door. The lower door comes open with the inner door. 2 Determine where the jam is located. a If the jammed media is seen under the fuser, grasp the jammed media on each side and pull it forward.
