• Power Up - sets the main menu item you see when you power on your phone. To set the idle screen to be the first thing you see when you power on your phone, select Default Ready. Volume Features The Volume menu sets the volume of sounds your phone makes: • Line 1 - sets ringer volume for phone line 1. • Line 2 - sets ringer volume for phone line 2. • Messages - sets the volume of message notifications and Datebook reminders. • Earpiece - sets the volume of sound coming out of the earpiece. • Speaker - sets the volume of sound coming out of the speaker. • Keypad - sets the volume of sound associated with pressing keys and buttons. • Java Earpiece - sets the volume of sound associated with Java applications coming out of the earpiece. • Java Speaker -sets the volume of sound associated with Java applications coming out of the speaker. • Data - sets the volume of sounds that notify you that you are receiving a circuit data call. Using Settings Security Features The Security menu lets you turn security features on and off and change passwords: • Phone Lock - turns on a feature that locks your phone: Lock Now takes effect immediately; Auto Lock takes effect when your phone is powered off and then on. An unlock code is required to enable this feature, to unlock the phone, and to set a new unlock code. Contact your service provider for your default unlock code. • Keypad Lock - locks the phone's keypad, either immediately or automatically after a set period of inactivity. • SIM PIN - enables and disables your phone's SIM PIN security feature. See "Turning the PIN Requirement On and Off" on page 15. • GPS PIN - enables and disables your phone's GPS PIN security feature. See "Setting the GPS PIN Security Feature" on page 153. • Change Passwords - changes your phone unlock code, security code, SIM PIN, and GPS PIN. 165

Power Up
