Taking Pictures Taking Pictures Using the Self-timer In Self-timer mode, the picture is taken ten seconds or two seconds after the shutter release button is pressed. Stabilize the camera with a tripod when taking a picture with the self-timer. g This mode lets you be included in a group picture. The picture is taken about ten seconds after the shutter release button is pressed. Z This mode smoothly releases the shutter without shaking the camera. The picture is taken about two seconds after the shutter release button is pressed. 1 In Capture mode, touch the LCD monitor. The [Capture Toolbar] appears. 2 Touch the Drive Mode. (e.g. 9). 3 • The icon of the currently selected Drive Mode appears on the [Capture Toolbar]. • The Drive Mode screen appears. 3 Touch the Self-timer Mode. (e.g. g). AUTO PICT 38 • On the Drive Mode screen, the icon of the currently selected self-timer mode appears in place of the g icon. • The g and Z icons appear on the LCD monitor. • The self-timer options can be switched at any time by touching the g or Z icon. 4 Press the shutter release button halfway. The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns green if the subject is in focus. 5 Press the shutter release button fully. A countdown of the time until the picture is taken appears on the LCD monitor, and the picture is taken ten seconds or two seconds after the shutter release button is pressed. Memo Pressing the shutter release button halfway during the countdown cancels the countdown. Press the shutter release button fully to restart the countdown. 79
