2.2 Installing Physical Drives Note We highly recommend that you choose Enterprise Level HDDs to achieve the best data protection. You can populate the DNS-1250-04 and DNS-1250-06 NAS systems with SATA 1.5 Gb/s or 3.0 Gb/s physical drives. For optimal performance, install physical drives of the same model and capacity. Your physical drives become a RAID Volume on the NAS system. To install physical drives: 1. Remove the drive carrier from the enclosure. Slide the latch towards the left. Press the button. Latch Button Pull the handle to slide the drive carrier out of the enclosure. 8
