5-2 | Monitoring and Configuring the Printer Monitoring Normal Printer Operation Messages appear on the control panel display and lights come on or flash to indicate various phases of printer operation. The following table explains the status messages and lights: Status messages Message READY PRINTING INK DRY MIN INK CHARGING % RESET PRESS PAUSE BUTTON WAIT PAUSE NO INK CARTRIDGE PAT PRINTING POWER OFF Light Explanation or response Operate light on Printer is ready to print. Operate light flashing Printer is receiving data. Pause light flashing Printer is paused to let ink dry. Wait for the number of minutes shown. Pause light on or flashing Printer is charging ink. All lights flash briefly Printer is resetting. Pause light on Press the Pause button to continue. Pause light on or flashing Printer is warming up, performing maintenance, or charging ink. Pause light on Printer is paused. To resume printing, press the Pause button. Appears when the ink cartridge is being replaced. Operate light flashing Print head alignment pattern is and Pause light on printing. Operate light flashing Printer is shutting down. Pausing and Resetting the Printer If you need to stop the printer during a print job, press the Pause button. Press the Pause button again to resume printing. If you decide to cancel a job after the printer has started processing it, you can reset the printer. Press the Pause button and hold it down for 3 seconds. This clears all data in the printer's memory. 5-2
