Chapter 2: Handling Paper and Other Media The EPSON Stylus Pro 10000 prints on a variety of media, including roll paper and cut sheets up to 44 inches wide. You can also use heavy stock, including posterboard up to 59 mil (1.5 mm) thick. This chapter includes the following information: • Selecting media that meet your printer's requirements • Printing on EPSON media • Using roll paper • Using cut sheet paper • Using the paper hammock • Setting paper configurations for non-EPSON media Note You can purchase roll paper spindles and other accessories or options from the EPSON Pro Graphics web site (http://prographics.epson. com) or your authorized EPSON dealer. Selecting Media That Meet Requirements You can print on most types of coated, glossy, plain paper, and other media. The printer comes with two 2-inch spindles, so you can have two types of roll paper available for printing at all times (with manual switching). High-tension spindles are also available (in both 2-inch and 3-inch diameters), recommended for media such as EPSON Synthetic Paper and Fine Art Paper. The following table shows the paper requirements for your printer: Paper requirements Roll paper Cut sheets Size 8.3 to 44.02 in. wide (210.8 to 1118 mm) 8.5 × 11 in. to 44 × 62.2 in. (up to 1118 × 1580 mm) Maximum 2 in. core: 4 in. (103 mm) when - external roll using 2 rolls diameter 3 in. core: 5.9 in. (150 mm) when using 1 roll Thickness 3.15 to 19.7 mil (0.8 to 0.5 mm) 3.15 to 59 mil (0.8 to 1.5 mm) Always test samples of paper stock in the printer before purchasing large quantities or printing large jobs. When you use non-EPSON papers or other media, you may need to "profile" their thickness and ink drying time. See page 2-18 for instructions. 1
