5: Web and Command Line Interfaces The SLB offers three interfaces for configuring the SLB: a command line interface (CLI), a web interface, and an LCD with keypads on the front panel. This chapter discusses the web and command line interfaces. (Chapter 4: Quick Setup on page 36 includes instructions for using the LCD to configure basic network settings.) Web Interface A web interface allows the system administrator and other authorized users to configure and manage the SLB using most web browsers (Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer with JavaScript enabled). The Web Telnet and Web SSH features require Java 1.1 (or later) support in the browser. The SLB provides a secure, encrypted web interface over SSL (secure sockets layer). Note: The web server listens for requests on the unencrypted (HTTP) port (port 80) and redirects all requests to the encrypted (HTTPS) port (port 443).
