$ (Serves 3-4) INGREDIENTS 350g/ 3/4lb braising steak, cubed 40g/1'/zoz seasoned flour (seasoned with an oxo cube and salt and pepper) 1 onion, peeled and sliced 1 carrot, peeled and sliced 200g/8oz canned chopped tomatoes 300m1s/l/z pint hot beef stock dash of worcester sauce 1 bouquet garni salt and pepper to taste Optional Additions; 2 sticks celery 1 potato, peeled and diced 3-4 mushrooms, washed and sliced COOKWARE Large microwaveproof casserole with lid, or a large microwaveproof bowl covered with a plate. Place on turntable. METHOD 1. Toss the beef in the seasoned flour until well covered. 2. Place all the ingredients into a large microwaveproof casserole dish, stir well and cover with lid. Cook on 750W for 10 minutes, followed by 450W for 35-40 minutes. 3. Halfway through cooking time stir well and re-cover. 4. After cooking stir well and serve. If you wish you may add dumplings as detailed below ; Dumplings (optional) 100g (4oz) self raising flour 50g (2oz) shredded suet pinch of salt cold water to mix Combine the above ingredients together and shape into 4 - 6 dumplings. After the cooking time is completed stir well and place the dumplings on top of the casserole. Cook uncovered on 750W for 5-6 minutes or until the dumplings look well risen and dry. 27
