I (Serves 4) INGREDIENTS 450g/11b cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced 50g / 2oz demerara sugar For the topping; 175g/7oz plain flour 100g/4oz butter or margarine 100g/4oz demerara sugar 25g/loz porridge oats 2.5m1s/ tsp cinnamon COOKWARE Large microwave and heatproof casserole dish. Place on turntable. METHOD 1. Place the prepared apples in layers with the sugar in the base of the dish. Cover and cook using 900W microwave power for 4-5 minutes until tender. 2. Prepare the topping by sifting the flour and cinnamon into a bowl, rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Mix in the sugar and porridge oats. 3. Sprinkle the topping over the fruit. 4. Place the dish on the turntable. Cook on Dual convection 220°C with 80W microwave power for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot with custard or cream. Microwave Tip Crunchy Apple Crumble. For a crisp crunchy texture replace the porridge oats in the above recipe with chopped nuts. 56
