Chapter 3 Hardware Overview 3.3 LEDs The following table describes the LEDs. Table 3 LEDs LED COLOR STATUS DESCRIPTION PWR Green On The system is turned on. Off The system is off. SYS Green Blinking The system is rebooting and performing self-diagnostic tests. On The system is on and functioning properly. Off The power is off or the system is not ready/malfunctioning. ALM Red On There is a hardware failure. Off The system is functioning normally. 1 - 8 (Ethernet ports) (ES2108, ES2108-F, ES2108-G and ES-2108-LC) Green Amber Blinking On Blinking On The system is transmitting/receiving to/from a 10 Mbps Ethernet network. The link to a 10 Mbps Ethernet network is up. The system is transmitting/receiving to/from a 100 Mbps Ethernet network. The link to a 100 Mbps Ethernet network is up. Off The link to an Ethernet network is down. 1 - 8 (Ethernet ports) (ES2108PWR only) Green Amber On Off Blinking The Switch is supplying power to the connected device that supports PoE. No device is connected to this port or the Switch is not supplying power via the Ethernet cable. The system is transmitting/receiving to/from a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network. On The link to a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet network is up. Off The link to an Ethernet network is down. 100/1000 Green On The link to a 1000 Mbps Ethernet network is up. Amber On The link to a 100 Mbps Ethernet network is up. Off The link to an Ethernet network is down. LNK/ACT Green Blinking The port is receiving or transmitting data. On The port has a connection to an Ethernet network but not receiving or transmitting data. Off The link to an Ethernet network is down. LNK (mini- Green On GBIC or Fast Ethernet SFP Off Slot) The port has a successful connection. No Ethernet device is connected to this port. ACT (miniGBIC or Fast Ethernet SFP Slot) Green Blinking Off The port is sending or receiving data. The port is not sending or receiving data.
