viewing conditions hp designjet 5500 series welcome how do I ... tell me about ... the problem is ... legal notices glossary index viewing conditions For a computer monitor to be most accurate, it is important that it be used in the proper viewing conditions. For monitors that are used for 'color-critical decisions', the monitor should be placed in an environment that is free from colors that prevent the monitor from displaying colors accurately. The walls of the viewing area should be painted in neutral colors, and should be free of artwork and other reflective objects. Floors and furniture should also be of neutral colors. Lighting should be 5,000°K color temperature, and should be diffuse, and very low level. Operators should wear a neutral gray work jacket or smock when using the color-critical monitor. Once the viewing conditions are correct, the monitor must be calibrated and profiled. The result should be effective for viewing images for 'soft proofing' in the computer work area.
