metamerism hp designjet 5500 series welcome how do I ... tell me about ... the problem is ... legal notices glossary index metamerism Colors that look different under different light sources are said to suffer from metamerism. The printing industry has standardized worldwide on a 5,000°K lighting standard for proofing and checking production proofs in the graphic arts. Since lighting varies so much from office to office, plant to plant, a single color viewing standard is needed. Even where a product is intended for viewing in a known lighting condition, the proofing and color correction of that product should take place under 5,000°K lighting. See 5000°K. file:///C|/Documents%20and%20Settings/---/Desktop/HP/html/C000-69.htm (1 of 2) [8/5/2002 2:20:32 PM]
