If your system has Dellinstalled MS-DOS, the 3Com files are located in the c:\dell\3com directory. A diskette image of the 3Com files can be used to make a backup diskette. If your system does not have Dell-installed MS-DOS, you should have received a 3Com diskette with your system. To run the program from a diskette, substitute a:\ for c:\dell\3com in the instructions that follow. To run the Install program, follow these steps: 1. Boot the system to MS-DOS. For instructions, see your MS-DOS documentation. 2. Change to the c:\dell\3com directory. For example, type cd c:\dell\3com. 3. Type install and press . The first time you run the Install program, a license agreement screen appears. To accept the terms and conditions of the license agreement, type y and press . The Install information screen is then displayed. 4. Read the Install information screen and press . The Main Menu of the Install program appears. 5. Proceed to "Using Install in a Novell NetWare Environment" or "Using Install in a NonNetWare Environment" found next in this chapter. Using Install in a Novell® NetWare® Environment To use the Install program to configure a single NIC on an MS-DOS client workstation in a NetWare environment, follow these steps: 1. Connect the workstation to a NetWare network. For instructions on connecting the workstation to a network, see "Connecting to a Network" found earlier in this chapter. 2. Complete steps 1 through 4 in "Configuring the NIC" found earlier in this section. 3. When the Main Menu is displayed, select NETWARE DOS ODI CLIENT and press . onfiguring the NIC
You use the 3Com Install program to configure the
system’s built-in Ethernet NIC. If your system has Dell-
installed MS-DOS, the 3Com files are located in the
c:\dell\3com
directory. A diskette image of the 3Com
files can be used to make a backup diskette.
If your system does not have Dell-installed MS-DOS,
you should have received a 3Com diskette with your sys-
tem. To run the program from a diskette, substitute
a:\
for
c:\dell\3com
in the instructions that follow.
To run the Install program, follow these steps:
1.

To use the Install program to configure a single NIC on
