Connecting the Management Port Serial Interface, Ethernet Network Cabling Tables

Page 91 highlights

Use the following procedure to connect to the management port Ethernet Interface: 1. See the Ethernet Network Cabling Tables to determine where the management port connects to an in-rack ProCurve switch. 2. Connect the end of the management cable with the single RJ-45 connector to the management port on the interconnect. 3. Connect the end of the cable with Ethernet connector to the appropriate ProCurve switch port. 7.3.3 Connecting the Management Port Serial Interface To use the serial interface on the ISR 9024, ISR 9096 or the ISR 9288, the PC that you use for the connection must support VT100 terminal emulation. The PC must be equipped with a terminal emulation software such as HyperTerminal or minicom. Note: Recommend serial terminal application for Windows is HyperTerminal. Recommended serial terminal application for Linux is minicom. Use the following procedure to connect to the management port serial Interface: 1. Connect the end of the management cable with the single RJ-45 connector to the management port on the interconnect. 2. Connect the end of the cable with the DB9 serial connector to a PC. 3. Configure your PC terminal emulation software to communicate with the interconnect with the following settings: a. Flow control - none. b. 38400 baud. c. Eight data bits. d. One stop bit. e. No parity. 7.3 Chassis Administrative Connections 91
