The indicator LEDs for physical (green) and logical (amber) link status. 3. The card's metal bracket. Always handle the card by holding only the bracket. Do not touch the printed circuit board, card components or the gold-plated connector. 4. Gold-plated connector fingers. Avoid touching the connector during installation. 5. Installation push points. Press on the bracket and the back corner with your thumbs if you cannot insert the card by pressing only on its metal bracket. Do not push on card components or touch the etched circuit tracks. Caution: Do not mix single data rate (SDR) components with double data rate (DDR) components as this may damage the components, or the cluster, or both. 8.2 Installing the HCA The installation steps described in this section are generic, because the actual procedure is specific to server models that are used as nodes in the cluster. Clusters might contain only one server model, however, two models is a more typical configuration, with one model used as the control and utility nodes, and another used as the application node. See the HP Cluster Platform Server and Workstation Overview for information on installing PCI cards. The server documentation is shipped with the HP Cluster Platform configuration, or is available online at the following URL: http://docs.hp.com/en/highperfcomp.html.
