Complete the following steps in the prescribed order to install and replace a microprocessor. Attention: Failure to complete the following steps in the prescribed order might cause damage to the microprocessor pins and cause the microprocessor to fail. 1. Read the safety information beginning on page 197 and "Installation guidelines" on page 77. 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and all external cables; then, open the cover. 3. Remove the memory-board assembly from the server: Attention: When you handle static-sensitive devices, take precautions to avoid damage from static electricity. For details about handling these devices, see "Handling static-sensitive devices" on page 78. a. Pull up on the levers to detach the memory-board assembly. b. Carefully remove the memory-board assembly from the server, and set it aside.
