6. Locate the clear password jumper (J20) on the I/O board. The following illustration shows the location of the jumper on the I/O board. 1 23 Clear password jumper (J20) 7. Move the clear password jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3. 8. Replace fans 3 and 4, and reconnect all external cables and power cords; then, turn on the peripheral devices. 9. Turn on the server. The EFI Boot Manager program starts. 10. Follow the instructions to create a new password. 11. Repeat steps 1 on page 72 through 5 on page 72. 12. Return the clear password jumper to pins 1 and 2. Note: The password will be cleared on every startup until the jumper is replaced to pins 1 and 2. 13. Repeat steps 8 through 10. 14. Close the cover (see "Closing the cover" on page 111). 15. Connect the server to a power source, keyboard, monitor, and mouse. 16. Turn on the server. Clearing CMOS Complete the following steps to set the CMOS recovery jumper: 1. Review the safety information beginning on page 197. Attention: When you handle static-sensitive devices, take precautions to avoid damage from static electricity. For details about handling these devices, see "Handling static-sensitive devices" on page 78. 2. Turn off the server and all attached devices. 3. Unplug the power cord, and disconnect all external cables. 4. Open the top cover (see "Opening the cover" on page 88). 5. Remove fans 3 and 4.
