Closed caption data This section explains the closed caption data that can be recorded, played back, and output during EE output. Legend : Signal I/O by standard function : Signal I/O by optional function Standard functions Normal EIA-708/608 recording and playback In response to closed caption input data that complies with the EIA-708/608 standards, record, play, and output that data with no changes. However, settings are required for recording of closed caption data in HDSDI signals. For details, see "To record and playback EIA-708-B standard closed caption data in HDSDI signals" (page 178) or "To record EIA-608-B standard closed caption data in HDSDI signals" (page 178). EIA-708/608 standard closed caption data recorded in HD video is output as HDSDI signals, regardless of menu settings. EIA-608 standard closed caption data in SDSDI line 21 signals are recorded and played back (output as SDSDI or composite signals), regardless of menu settings. Closed caption data
This section explains the closed caption data that can be
recorded, played back, and output during EE output.
Standard functions
Normal EIA-708/608 recording and playback
In response to closed caption input data that complies with
the EIA-708/608 standards, record, play, and output that
data with no changes.
However, settings are required for recording of closed
caption data in HDSDI signals.

standard closed caption data in HDSDI signals”
(page 178) or
“To record EIA-608-B standard closed
caption data in HDSDI signals” (page 178).
EIA-708/608 standard closed caption data recorded in HD
video is output as HDSDI signals, regardless of menu
settings.
EIA-608 standard closed caption data in SDSDI line 21
signals are recorded and played back (output as SDSDI or
composite signals), regardless of menu settings.

after conversion to EIA-708 format.
