Chapter 29 Maintenance The following table describes the labels in the General screen. Table 91 Maintenance > Sys OP Mode LABEL System Operation Mode Router DESCRIPTION Select Router Mode if your device routes traffic between a local network and another network such as the Internet. This mode offers services such as a firewall or bandwidth management. Access Point You can configure the IP address settings on your WAN port. Contact your ISP or system administrator for more information on appropriate settings. Select Access Point Mode if your device bridges traffic between clients on the same network. • In Access Point Mode, all Ethernet ports have the same IP address. • All ports on the rear panel of the device are LAN ports, including the port labeled WAN. There is no WAN port. • The DHCP server on your device is disabled. • The IP address of the device on the local network is set to 192.168.1.2. Universal Repeater Mode Select Universal Repeater Mode if you want to have wireless clients associate with the NBG4615 and also want to connect the NBG4615 to an existing access point. WISP Mode • In addition to wireless LAN settings between the NBG4615 and wireless clients, you also need to configure security and wireless settings between the NBG4615 and another access point. • WDS is not available when the NBG4615 is in Universal Repeater Mode. • The IP address of the device on the local network is the same as the IP address given to the NBG4615 while in Access Point Mode (default is 192.168.1.2). Select WISP Mode if your device needs a wireless client to connect to an existing access point. Apply Cancel • You cannot configure Wireless LAN settings (including WPS) and scheduling in the WISP Mode. • The IP address of the device on the local network is the same as the IP address given to the NBG4615 while in router mode (default is 192.168.1.1). Click Apply to save your settings. Click Cancel to return your settings to the default (Router).
