The session inactivity timeout prevents a session to a partition from being inadvertently left open, preventing other users from logging onto a partition using the same path. If the system session is hung or if the partition OS is hung, the IT command also prevents a session from being locked indefinitely. The second timeout is an MP-Handler command timeout. This stops a user from not completing a command and preventing other users from using the MP-Handler. Neither timeout can be deactivated. IT - View / Configure Inactivity Timeout Parameters
Access level—Operator
Scope—Complex
This command sets the two inactivity timeouts.
The session inactivity timeout prevents a session to a partition from being inadvertently left
open, preventing other users from logging onto a partition using the same path. If the system
session is hung or if the partition OS is hung, the
IT
command also prevents a session from being
locked indefinitely.
The second timeout is an MP-Handler command timeout. This stops a user from not completing
a command and preventing other users from using the MP-Handler.
Neither timeout can be deactivated.
