SETTING UP THE MACHINE Needles REMOVING AND INSERTING THE NEEDLE Q Select a needle of the appropriate style and size for the j fabric to be sewn. For safety, turn off the power switch before changing the needle 1. Turn the handwheel toward you until the needle is at its highest position. 2. Loosen the needle clamp screw. 3. Remove the needle. 4. Insert new needle into needle clamp with the flat side to 0 the back and push it up as far as it will go. 0 5. Tighten the needle clamp screw. NOTE: Do not use a bent or blunt needle (a). Place needle on a flat surface to check its straightness. FABRIC, THREAD AND NEEDLE CHART Select size of thread and needle in accordance with fabric to be sewn. SINGER° brand needles are recommended for this machine.
