1.10 Battery ASSY Disconnecting the battery harness with the power cord unplugged will lose the settings (e.g., calendar clock, voice messages, and received FAX data) stored in the RAM. After connecting the battery harness, therefore, you may need to make those settings. To remove the upper cover ASSY, you need to disconnect the battery harness from the main PCB. To do it without losing the settings stored in the RAM, follow the steps below. (1) Plug the power cord of the facsimile equipment into a power outlet. (2) Disconnect the battery harness from the main PCB and take out the battery ASSY from the pocket provided on the upper cover. (3) Connect the removed battery ASSY to the main PCB again and put the battery ASSY on the main PCB. (4) Unplug the power cord. (5) Handle jobs involving the removal of the upper cover ASSY. (6) After completion of those jobs, plug the power cord. (7) Disconnect the battery ASSY from the main PCB, put the battery ASSY into the pocket provided on the upper cover, and connect the battery harness to the main PCB. (8) Unplug the power cord.
