CHAPTER 3 USING THE LAN CARD IN A WINDOWS 2000/XP/VISTA/7/WINDOWS SERVER 2003/2008/2008 R2/WEPOS ENVIRONMENT This chapter explains how to connect the LAN card in a Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2/WEPOS environment and perform printing via TCP/IP. PRINTING IN A WINDOWS 2000/XP/VISTA/7/WINDOWS SERVER 2003/2008/2008 R2/WEPOS ENVIRONMENT VIA TCP/IP The procedure for printing using the LAN card via TCP/IP is as follows: • Install the printer driver on your PC beforehand. Caution • Administrator privileges are required for settings. When printing using the standard print client of Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008/2008 R2, or WEPOS see the Hint section entitled "Printing using the standard print client of the operating system" in this chapter. Check the network configuration of the PC. Initial installation and printing Set the IP address using QuickSetup. Printing only Install PR-PortManager. Set up the printer port. 3-1
