2 Select download method for your Internet connection In this step, you select options for your Internet connection so that Media Center can download and update your Program Guide and display information about your music CDs and other media. a You can have Media Center automatically download the Guide when connected, or you can manually download the Guide when you connect to the Internet. If you manually download the Guide, you need to connect to the Internet and then select Settings from the Media Center Start menu, select TV, Guide, and then select Get Guide data. b Test your connection to the Internet by selecting the Test button. To set this up later or change your settings, you can select Settings from the Media Center Start menu, select General, and then select Set up Internet connection. n If you choose to manually download the Program Guide, it is best that you download it once per day. n If you are unable to identify which set top box you have, the Media Center wizard prompts you to manually program the remote control buttons that control the set top box.
