Using Alpha Mode 1. In standby mode, press the Up navigation key (for Messages) and @ for New Text Msg. 2. Enter the phone number of the recipient, then press OK . If more than one word shares the same numeric sequence, T9 Word provides the most commonly used word. Press to display other words, if available. Adding Words to the T9 Word Dictionary If pressing the keys corresponding to a word you want to enter and then pressing the key does not display that word, do the following: 1. Clear the word using the CLR key. 2. Change the text entry mode to Alpha. (For more information, see "Changing the Text Entry Mode" on page 44.) 3. Enter the word you want to add to the T9 Word dictionary. 4. Press the key. The word is added to the T9 dictionary and becomes the first word for the associated keypress series. Using Alpha Mode 1.
