CHAPTER 5: COMMAND LINE INTERFACE Example Enterprise AP(if-wireless g)#speed 6 Enterprise AP(if-wireless g)# turbo This command sets the access point to an enhanced proprietary modulation mode (not regulated in IEEE 802.11a) that provides a higher data rate of up to 108 Mbps. Syntax turbo no turbo static - Always uses turbo mode. dynamic - Will use turbo mode when no other nearby access points are detected or active. Default Setting Disabled Command Mode Interface Configuration (Wireless - 802.11a) Command Usage • The normal 802.11a wireless operation mode provides connections up to 54 Mbps. Turbo Mode is an enhanced mode (not regulated in IEEE 802.11a) that provides a higher data rate of up to 108 Mbps. Enabling Turbo Mode allows the access point to provide connections up to 108 Mbps. • In normal mode, the access point provides a channel bandwidth of 20 MHz, and supports the maximum number of channels permitted by local regulations (e.g., 11 channels for the United States). In Turbo Mode, the channel bandwidth is increased to 40 MHz to support the increased data rate. However, this reduces the number of channels supported (e.g., 5 channels for the United States).
