Rear system fan assembly This section describes how to remove and install the rear system fan assembly. Removing the rear system fan assembly 1. Disconnect power from the workstation (see Predisassembly procedures on page 73). 2. Remove the side access panel (see Removing the side access panel on page 75). 3. Remove the memory cooling fan (see Removing the memory fan on page 122) 4. Disconnect the rear system fan assembly cable from the system board as shown in the following figure. Figure 5-69 Disconnecting fan cables 5. Press down on the ribbed portion of the rear system fan housing 2, rotate the fan housing down , and lift the assembly out of the chassis. Installing the rear system fan assembly To install the rear system fan assembly, reverse these steps. Place the assembly in the chassis at an angle, rotate it vertical until it snaps into place, and then connect the assembly cable to the system board. Memory fan This section describes how to remove and install a memory fan. Removing the memory fan 1. Disconnect power from the workstation (see Predisassembly procedures on page 73). 2.
