Side access panel Before accessing the internal components of the workstation, you must remove the side access panel. This section describes how to remove and install the side access panel. NOTE: An expansion card support is built into the side access panel. When the panel is removed, the card support is removed, allowing access to the expansion cards. Removing the side access panel WARNING! Before removing the workstation side access panel, be sure that the workstation is powered off and that the power cord is disconnected from the electrical outlet. 1. Disconnect power from the workstation (see Predisassembly procedures on page 73). 2. Remove locks that are present, such as cable lock or side access panel key lock. 3. Pull up on the handle and rotate the cover off the chassis as shown in the following figure. Figure 5-3 Removing the side access panel Installing the side access panel 1. Align the bottom groove of the side panel with the bottom edge of the chassis. 2. Rotate the side panel toward the chassis and press firmly until the latch engages.
