4 RECEIVE AND TRANSMIT D One-touch repeater function This function allows you to set the repeater operation by holding down one switch. First, set the frequency offset as well as the repeater access tone frequency (p. 163). q Select the desired frequency band. (p. 35) w In the FM mode, push [A/B] to select VFO A. e R otate [MAIN DIAL] to set the desired receive fre- quency (repeater output frequency). r P ush [MENU] to display the "M1" screen (Menu 1). t H old down [DUP](F-2) for 1 second to turn ON the One-touch repeater function. • "T" and "DUP-" appears. • T he repeater receive frequency appears on bottom of the function display. • T he Split frequency operation is automatically turned OFF, if it is ON. y P ush [DUP](F-2) once or twice to switch the offset direction. • "DUP-" or "DUP+" appears. u Communicate in the normal way. D Transmit frequency monitor check You may be able to directly receive the other party's transmitted signal without having to go through a repeater. This function helps you to check whether the direct communication can be done, or not. ➥ While receiving, hold down [XFC] to see if you can directly receive the other party's transmitted signal. • W hile holding down [XFC], the offset direction and frequency offset are displayed on the function display. D 1750 Hz tone burst A 1750 Hz tone is required to access most European repeaters. ➥ To transmit a 1750 Hz European repeater tone, hold down [TON](F-4) during repeater operation. (p. 65) • "T" blinks. NOTE: This function is not available for non-European versions.
