Installing a SATA or SCSI Backplane

Page 112 highlights

9. Hold the backplane only by the edges. Do not push or pull on any components on the backplane. Set the backplane in place at the front of the chassis, with the sides of the board resting in the guides at the left and right sides of the chassis. 10. Ensure the USB cable is positioned inside of the cutout at the back of the control panel. See letter "A" in the figure below. 11. Push the USB cable toward the chassis floor, so that when the backplane is installed the USB cable will route beneath the metal at the edge of the backplane. Refer again to letter "A" in the figure. 12. Use care to avoid pinching any cables. Slide the backplane into the chassis guides at the left and right sides of the chassis until the pins at the left and right sides of the backplane bracket are fully inserted into the matching holes in the chassis. See letter "B" in the figure below. B A Figure 78. Installing a SATA or SCSI Backplane TP01074 13. Connect the flex cable between the server board and the backplane. See letter "A" in the figure below. See your server board documentation to locate the connection point on the server board. 14. Connect the 2x3 power cable to the backplane. See letter "B" in the figure. 88
