Removing and Installing the PCI Riser Assembly Always operate your server chassis with the PCI riser assembly in place. The riser assembly is required for proper airflow within the chassis. You will need to remove the PCI riser assembly from the chassis to replace the PCI riser connectors, or to add or remove a PCI add-in card. See "Safety Information." 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable or DC external source. 3. Remove the chassis cover. Always operate your server chassis with the PCI riser assembly in place. The riser assembly is
required for proper airflow within the chassis. You will need to remove the PCI riser assembly from
the chassis to replace the PCI riser connectors, or to add or remove a PCI add-in card.
