If a replacement drive will not be installed in the carrier, store the data cable, the interposer board, and the screws for future use. 12. Install the slimline filler panel in the chassis opening. 13. Install the chassis cover. For instructions, see "Installing the Chassis Cover." 14. (Optional) Install the front bezel. For instructions, see "Installing the Front Bezel." 15. Plug in all peripheral devices and connect the AC power cable or DC external source to the server. Removing and Installing the PCI Riser Assembly Always operate your server chassis with the PCI riser assembly in place. The riser assembly is required for proper airflow within the chassis. You will need to remove the PCI riser assembly from the chassis to replace the PCI riser connectors, or to add or remove a PCI add-in card. Removing the PCI Riser Assembly Use the following instructions to remove the PCI riser assembly from the chassis. 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See "Safety Information." 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable or DC external source. 3. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Chassis Cover." 4. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see "Removing the Processor Air Duct" 5.
