Removing the Fixed Drive Air Baffle (No Backplane Installed) 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See "Safety Information." 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable or DC external source. 3. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Chassis Cover." 4. Important: Note how the cables are routed over and under the air baffle. You will need to re- route these cables when you re-install the air baffle. 5. Pull up on the rear of the air baffle and slide the front of the baffle from beneath the drive cage area to remove it. See the figure below. You may need to remove or hold cables out of the way. 6. 2.
Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable or DC
external source.
3.
Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see “
Removing the Chassis Cover
.”

Important:
Note how the cables are routed over and under the air baffle. You will need to re-
route these cables when you re-install the air baffle.
5.
Pull up on the rear of the air baffle and slide the front of the baffle from beneath the drive cage
area to remove it. See the figure below. You may need to remove or hold cables out of the way.
6.
Return to the procedure that directed you to remove the fixed drive air baffle.
