Hardware Installations and Upgrades 7. Set the riser assembly straight down, matching the hooks in the back of the riser assembly to the notches in the rear of the chassis. See the figure below. 8. Installing the PCI Riser Assembly into the Chassis Installing and Removing a PCI Riser Connector The PCI riser connectors can be replaced if one fails or if a different option is required. To replace a PCI riser connector, use the instructions under "Removing a PCI Riser Connector" to remove a connector, and then follow the instructions under "Installing the PCI Riser Assembly" to install a new riser connector. NOTE To eliminate the possibility of installing the replacement connectors on the wrong side of the PCI riser assembly, replace one connector at a time.
